Outpatients

Our outpatient department ensures diagnostic, curative and preventive care for patients of Pilsen region as well as medical consultations for patients who are hospitalized at University Hospital in Pilsen.

The care is provided in four offices: two of them for adult and two for pediatric patients.

We provide diagnostics and therapy for patients suffering from atopic diseases, e.g. allergic seasonal or perennial rhinitis, bronchial asthma, skin atopic disorders (atopic dermatitis, allergic urticaria), allergic reactions to insect venoms. Furthermore, we care for patients with immunological disorders, e.g. serious inherited disorders of humoral immune response requiring regular monitoring and immunoglobulin replacement therapy on daily-care beds. We ensure also specialized care for patients with inherited disorder of C1-inhibitor (hereditary angioedema).

We perform diagnostic skin tests, blood sampling and laboratory immunological or allergological testing including interpretation of obtained results. We are able to perform double-blind placebo controlled food challenges which are considered to be the ‘gold standard’ of food allergy diagnosis. For patients suspected from bronchial asthma, we offer a wide variety of pulmonological diagnostic tests, e.g. F/V curve, bronchomotoric tests (bronchodilation and bronchoprovocation test with metacholine inhalation or physical exercise) or exhaled NO measurement. In patients suspected from drug allergy, we perform specific IgE measurement and skin or provocation tests. Except from conventional allergy treatment, we use also allergen-specific immunotherapy in patients with allergy to airborne allergens (pollens, house dust mites) or hymenoptera venom allergens.

Our daily-care beds are used for administration of intravenous immunoglobulins to patients with primary humoral immunodeficiencies. The daily-care beds are also used for accelerated protocols of administration of allergenic vaccines to patients or for immediate care for patients with bronchial asthma exacerbation.

In the frame of complex care, we provide education targeted to appropriate use of various types of inhalers, spacers, allergen elimination regimen statement or life-style regimen for adult or pediatric patients with asthma and/or allergy.
