Allergology and clinical immunology is an interdisciplinary field with clinical and laboratory parts. It is concerned with research, diagnostics, management and prevention in patients with diseases either caused by immunological disorders or in which are involved. In such conditions immunomodulation is an important part of therapy or prevention. The important part of the discipline is specialized laboratory diagnostics. Laboratory immunologic examination gives the answer to some diagnostic and prognostic questions and helps in monitoring the course and activity of the disease.
